The Stanly County community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 34-year-old Tiffany Mauldin, who tragically lost her life following a devastating head-on collision late Tuesday night on U.S. Highway 52 near the Northeast Connector.
According to authorities, emergency personnel responded to the serious crash on May 27, 2026, at approximately 11 p.m. Initial investigations by the Albemarle Police Department revealed that a vehicle traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 52 crossed the center line and collided head-on with a southbound vehicle.
The driver of the southbound vehicle suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Tragically, Tiffany Mauldin, identified as the driver of the northbound vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
