PLAINFIELD, Indiana — A community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 6-year-old Mohamedamin Mohamed, whose life was tragically cut short after he was reported missing and later found in a pond Saturday night.
According to the Plainfield Police Department, emergency responders were dispatched after receiving reports that a young child had wandered away from a residence in the area of Cardinal Circle in northeast Plainfield near South Raceway Road and East County Road 100 South. Family members and authorities quickly became concerned when the child could not be located, prompting an urgent search effort.
Police officers, firefighters, emergency personnel, and concerned community members worked tirelessly throughout the evening, searching neighborhoods, streets, yards, and nearby areas in hopes of bringing the little boy home safely. The search united the community as volunteers joined first responders in a desperate effort to locate Mohamedamin.
