According to a press release from the Bolivar County Sheriff’s Department, law enforcement officers responded to reports of shots fired in the Rosedale area during the afternoon hours of Thursday, June 11, 2026. Deputies with the Bolivar County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Rosedale Police Department arrived on the scene shortly after receiving emergency calls regarding gunfire near Rosedale High School.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered a light blue Chevy Tahoe in a wooded area located behind Rosedale Elementary School. Inside the vehicle were two occupants. One of them, 31-year-old Miltorious Britton of Rosedale, had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. Despite efforts by emergency responders, he was pronounced deceased. A second occupant inside the vehicle was unharmed.
