According to the Pueblo Police Department, officers were called to the scene at approximately 9:40 a.m. following reports of a serious collision involving a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck. Investigators say the semi-truck had merged onto I-25 and then moved onto the shoulder near the City Center on-ramp after the driver reportedly noticed a possible mechanical issue.
Moments later, a Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Miller entered the interstate from the same on-ramp and also traveled onto the shoulder. In a tragic sequence of events, the vehicle collided with the rear of the semi-trailer. Despite emergency response efforts, Miller was pronounced dead at the scene.
