SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Springfield police have released the names of the individuals involved in the Lake Springfield incident on Sunday, June 14, identifying 19-year-old Andrea Stawny, 17-year-old Sofie Stawny, 40-year-old Taylor Stawny, and 12-year-old Aurelie Stawny as those connected to the case as search-and-rescue operations continue across land, water, and air.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that Andrea Stawny, 19, and Sofie Stawny, 17, were later located following extensive water recovery efforts near the dam. According to police, Andrea was recovered on Tuesday approximately a quarter-mile downriver from the dam, while Sofie was found near the dam area on Wednesday after continued coordinated search operations.
Authorities stated that 40-year-old Taylor Stawny remains missing as of the latest update, with approximately 40 rescuers from multiple agencies actively engaged in ongoing search efforts. Crews continue to search the surrounding waterways and shoreline, utilizing boats, ground teams, and aerial support in hopes of locating him.
Officials also confirmed that 12-year-old Aurelie Stawny was rescued from the spillway waters below the dam on Sunday shortly after the incident occurred.
