Beaumont Shooting Turns Deadly: Nastazia Corbin Killed, Another Innocent Bystander Critically Injured; Suspect Drevion Wilson Arrested

BEAUMONT, Texas — June 3, 2026 A violent shooting outside a Beaumont apartment complex involving suspect 18-year-old Drevion Wilson, along with another unidentified suspect, has left 25-year-old Nastazia Corbin dead and a second innocent bystander critically injured, authorities confirmed in a heartbreaking update released Wednesday, as the aftermath of the June 1 incident continues to unfold in the 2250 block of West Virginia Street.

According to the Beaumont Police Department, Corbin died Tuesday night after being struck during the gunfire exchange at the apartment complex. The second victim, also an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire, remains hospitalized in critical condition following the shooting.

Violence erupts in apartment parking lot

Police said the incident unfolded on Monday, June 1, at approximately 2:21 p.m., when officers were dispatched to reports of shots fired at the apartment complex. As emergency responders rushed to the scene, it was already reported that multiple victims were being transported for medical treatment in a private vehicle.

Investigators later determined that the shooting stemmed from a disturbance between two individuals that escalated into a gunfight in the apartment complex parking lot. Authorities say both suspects opened fire on one another across the crowded residential area, endangering everyone nearby.

In the midst of the exchange, Corbin and the second victim—each seated inside separate vehicles—were struck by gunfire. Police have emphasized that neither victim had any involvement in the dispute and were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Both victims were initially listed in critical condition and rushed to a Houston-area trauma center for emergency treatment.

Arrest made as suspect returned to scene

During the active investigation, one of the suspected shooters reportedly returned to the apartment complex while detectives were still processing evidence. Officers quickly detained the individual at the scene without further incident.

The suspect was identified as 18-year-old Drevion Wilson, who was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Authorities say Wilson remains in custody as the investigation continues.

A second suspect, believed to be a juvenile, fled the scene and remains at large. Law enforcement officials have not released further identifying details but say efforts to locate the individual are ongoing.

Charges may be upgraded

With the death of Nastazia Corbin, investigators say the case remains active and evolving. It is currently unclear whether additional or upgraded charges will be filed in connection with her death as prosecutors review the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The second victim remains hospitalized, with no updated condition released.

Community shaken by loss

The fatal outcome has deepened the impact of what was already a devastating case of senseless violence in a residential neighborhood. Residents have expressed grief and concern over the fact that innocent people were caught in the crossfire of a dispute that escalated into gunfire in broad daylight.

Community members continue to call for answers and accountability as investigators work to determine how the confrontation escalated so quickly and whether additional charges will follow.

Investigation ongoing

The Beaumont Police Department continues to investigate the shooting and is urging anyone with information about the second suspect or the incident itself to come forward.

Tips can be provided directly to police or anonymously through Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas.

As Beaumont mourns the loss of Nastazia Corbin and prays for the recovery of the surviving victim, authorities say the case remains under active investigation with more updates expected as new information develops.
