SAGINAW, Mich. — Authorities have identified Adarrius Robinson, 29, of Bridgeport Township, as the victim in a fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning on the city’s east side. Investigators have since announced that 50-year-old Kevin Keaner has been charged with Murder and Tampering with Evidence in connection with Robinson’s death.
According to the Saginaw Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of Phoenix Street near South 20th Street at approximately 2:20 a.m. on June 8, 2026, following reports of multiple gunshots in the area. Witnesses reported hearing approximately a dozen shots before authorities were notified.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Robinson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel immediately rendered aid, but despite their efforts, Robinson was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The victim’s family has been notified of his passing as investigators continue working to piece together the circumstances that led to the deadly shooting.
The Saginaw Police Department, alongside detectives from the Michigan State Police Major Case Unit (MCU), launched an extensive homicide investigation following the incident. Detectives spent hours gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and processing the crime scene in an effort to determine exactly what occurred during the early morning violence.
Detective Sergeant Oscar Lopez stated that investigators were actively pursuing leads and working to establish the events surrounding Robinson’s death. Authorities initially indicated that no suspect had been taken into custody as the investigation remained in its early stages.
Since then, prosecutors have charged Kevin Keaner, 50, with Murder and Tampering with Evidence. Keaner is currently being held in the Saginaw County Jail and is expected to be arraigned later this week. Officials have not yet released additional details regarding the alleged motive or the circumstances that led to the charges.
Law enforcement officials say more information is expected to become available following Keaner’s arraignment and as the investigation continues to move forward through the court system.
The death of Adarrius Robinson marks another tragic loss for the Saginaw community, leaving family members, friends, and loved ones mourning a life taken far too soon.
