21-Year-Old Trencent Francois Identified in Winnipeg Homicide Investigation; Woman Charged

WINNIPEG, Manitoba — Trencent Francois, 21, a Winnipeg resident and member of Nelson House First Nation, has been identified as the victim in a homicide investigation stemming from a violent incident at a residence in the city’s West End. Police have charged 20-year-old Precious Rayne Walker with manslaughter in connection with the case.

According to the Winnipeg Police Service, officers responded shortly after 3 a.m. on June 13, 2026, to reports of a serious incident at a home in the 700 block of Toronto Street. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered Francois suffering from critical, life-threatening injuries.

Paramedics provided emergency medical care before transporting him to a hospital for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Francois later succumbed to his injuries.

Police arrested an adult woman at the residence without incident as investigators began examining the scene and collecting evidence.

The Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit has since assumed responsibility for the investigation. Detectives identified the deceased as Trencent Francois and have continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.

As a result of the investigation, authorities charged Precious Rayne Walker, 20, with manslaughter. She remains in custody while the case moves through the judicial process.

Investigators continue to review evidence and speak with witnesses in an effort to establish a complete timeline of events. At this stage, police have not released additional details regarding the circumstances that led to Francois’ death.
