Tulsa Woman and 5-Year-Old Child Found Dead in Benton County; Authorities Investigating Apparent Murder-Suicide

BENTON COUNTY, Ark. — Authorities have identified the two people found dead inside a vehicle parked off Old Highway 68 near Siloam Springs as Kena Donshaie Knapper, 26, and Tyler Zane Winston, 5, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma. According to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, the tragic discovery was made on June 17, 2026, after deputies responded to a report of a vehicle with what appeared to be two deceased individuals inside. The case is being investigated as an apparent murder-suicide.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they confirmed that both occupants of the vehicle had died. Detectives immediately launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following the investigation, the Arkansas State Medical Examiner determined that Tyler Zane Winston’s death was the result of a homicide, while Kena Donshaie Knapper’s death was ruled a suicide. Based on those findings, investigators believe the case to be an apparent murder-suicide.

The heartbreaking discovery has left many searching for answers as investigators continue to piece together the events that led to the deaths. The loss of a young child has been especially devastating, drawing sympathy from community members in both Arkansas and Oklahoma.
