The Pickaway County community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Marilyn Gregg, whose life was tragically cut short following a devastating four-vehicle crash in Circleville on Thursday afternoon. Family, friends, and loved ones are now grieving an unimaginable loss as they remember a woman whose passing has left a deep void in the hearts of many.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred on May 28, 2026, at approximately 1:38 p.m. at the intersection of US-23 and Circle Lane in Pickaway County. Authorities reported that Marilyn Gregg was driving a 2017 Hyundai Tucson northbound on US-23 and was attempting to turn left onto Circle Lane when the collision occurred.
Investigators stated that the Hyundai Tucson failed to yield while turning left and was struck by a southbound 2018 Toyota Corolla driven by Sara Gearhart. After the initial collision, the Tucson was then struck by a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Brant Culler. The impact forced the Tucson into a ditch after it continued to be pushed by the Silverado.
A fourth vehicle, a 2020 Hyundai Sonata driven by Emily Lyons, was also struck by debris from the crash while stopped at the traffic light on Circle Lane.
Marilyn Gregg was identified as the only injured occupant involved in the collision. Emergency responders transported her to Berger Hospital before she was later flown to Grant Hospital for further treatment. Despite efforts to save her life, Marilyn Gregg sadly succumbed to her injuries and was later pronounced deceased.
The tragic accident drew assistance from multiple emergency agencies, including the Pickaway Township Fire Department, Circleville Fire Department, and the Ohio Department of Transportation. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
For those who knew Marilyn Gregg, she was much more than the victim of a tragic accident. She was a beloved family member, friend, neighbor, and member of the community whose life touched many people over the years. Her sudden passing has left loved ones struggling to process the shock and pain of losing someone so unexpectedly.
In moments like these, words often fail to fully capture the heartbreak families experience after such a sudden tragedy. Loved ones are left holding onto memories shared with Marilyn — moments of laughter, kindness, conversations, and the everyday presence that made her special to those around her.
The tragedy also serves as a painful reminder of how quickly life can change on the road and how fragile every moment truly is. Traffic accidents continue to impact countless families across communities, leaving lasting emotional scars for those left behind.
