The Liberty community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Logan Anders, a 24-year-old young man whose life was tragically cut short following a motor vehicle collision in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 6, 2026.
According to the Pickens County Coroner’s Office, Logan was involved in a two-vehicle crash at approximately 3:51 a.m. at the intersection of Moorefield Memorial Highway (S.C. Highway 178) and North Freeman Road in Liberty, South Carolina. Emergency personnel from Pickens County EMS, the South Carolina Highway Patrol, and Pickens County Fire Service quickly responded to the scene to provide aid and begin their investigation.
The collision involved a two-door Jeep SUV driven by Logan and a Ford crew cab pickup truck that was towing a boat. Despite the efforts of first responders and medical personnel, Logan later succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the crash. Deputy Coroner Marsha Alexander responded to Baptist Easley Hospital at approximately 4:59 a.m. in reference to the fatality.
The sudden loss of a young life leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of family members, friends, and all who knew Logan. At just 24 years old, he had so much life ahead of him—dreams to pursue, memories to create, and milestones yet to be reached. His passing serves as a painful reminder of how precious and fragile life can be.

A forensic autopsy has been scheduled, and the circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation by the Pickens County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol. No additional information has been released at this time.
