Crow Wing County, Minnesota — The community mourns the heartbreaking loss of Cody Kent, 29, of Burnsville, Minnesota, who tragically passed away following a drowning incident at Little Emily Lake on May 30, 2026.
Cody was enjoying time near the Little Emily Lake Park swimming area when he entered the water and sadly did not resurface. Despite immediate efforts from a friend and emergency responders, his life could not be saved.
First responders, including the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Emily Fire and Rescue, and local emergency personnel, worked quickly at the scene.
The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office extended its deepest condolences to Cody’s family and loved ones during this painful time.
Cody is remembered in the hearts of those who knew him — a life gone too soon, leaving behind sorrow, memories, and an unfillable space in the lives of his family and friends.
