Officers with the Columbus Police Department responded to the location following reports of gunfire. Upon arriving, they discovered Wilson with critical injuries. Sadly, despite the response of emergency personnel, he could not be saved and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
On Friday morning, the Columbus Police Department announced that its Violent Crimes Unit has launched an active investigation into the fatal shooting. Detectives are working diligently to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, identify those responsible, and establish what led to the tragic loss of Wilson’s life.
At this time, authorities have not released additional details regarding a suspect or the events leading up to the shooting. Investigators continue to gather evidence, interview witnesses, and follow every available lead as they work toward bringing justice to Amari and his grieving loved ones.
