According to authorities, the collision involved Johnson’s vehicle and an 18-wheeler. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but despite their efforts, David Earl Johnson was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of the injuries he sustained. The condition of the driver of the 18-wheeler has not been released. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
