CINCINNATI, Ohio — Family, friends, and members of the Cincinnati community are mourning the tragic loss of Ray Martin, 33, who was killed early Sunday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 75.
According to Cincinnati Police, the devastating incident occurred just before 2:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-75 near Hopple Street. Investigators say Martin and a woman were outside of their vehicle when an Escalade traveling on the interstate reportedly lost control and struck both pedestrians.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and transported the victims to UC Medical Center for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Martin succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The female victim also sustained serious injuries and remains under medical care. Authorities have not released additional information regarding her condition.
