IN LOVING MEMORY ANGELA CLAXTON

BUCHANAN, Tennessee — The Henry County Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, is actively investigating a suspicious death that has now been classified as a homicide in Buchanan.

Authorities say that on June 5, 2026, deputies responded to a residence at 245 Cay Lawrence Road after receiving a report that a deceased individual had been discovered at the location. Upon arrival, law enforcement confirmed the presence of a deceased woman inside the home. The victim has been identified as Angela Claxton, 49, of the same address.

Investigators with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have since taken the lead on the case, which officials confirm is being treated as an active homicide investigation. At this time, authorities have not released additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding Ms. Claxton’s death, as detectives continue to gather evidence, process the scene, and conduct interviews.

Following the initial investigation, Mrs. Claxton’s body was transported to the medical examiner in Nashville for an autopsy, where further examinations will be conducted to help determine the official cause and manner of death. Officials say the findings will be an important part of the ongoing investigative process.

Law enforcement has emphasized that this remains a developing case, and investigators are working diligently to piece together the events that led to this tragic discovery.
