Authorities stated that on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at approximately 4:55 p.m., dispatchers received a report from a ranger with Tettegouche State Park advising that a body had been located on the rocks below the cliffs at Palisade Head, a well-known scenic overlook along Minnesota’s North Shore.
Emergency personnel immediately responded to the area, where members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit and Rescue Squad conducted a difficult recovery operation. Due to the rugged terrain and steep cliffside conditions surrounding Palisade Head, crews worked carefully to safely recover the victim from the shoreline below.
