17-YEAR-OLD SCOTLANDVILLE STUDENT JOSHUA ROBINSON KILLED IN BATON ROUGE EARLY-MORNING SHOOTING

BATON ROUGE — A tragic early-morning shooting in Baton Rouge has left 17-year-old Scotlandville Magnet High School student Joshua Robinson dead and another person injured, according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.

Authorities confirmed that the incident occurred shortly after 12:18 a.m. on Wednesday, when officers were dispatched to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Harding Boulevard and Plank Road. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both victims were quickly transported to nearby hospitals for emergency treatment. One of the individuals remained in critical condition upon arrival, while the second victim sustained injuries that ultimately proved fatal.

The deceased has been identified as 17-year-old Joshua Robinson, a student at Scotlandville Magnet High School. Despite life-saving efforts by medical personnel, Robinson later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

The second victim, whose identity has not yet been publicly released, is reported to have survived but remains under medical care.
