According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 2:12 p.m. in Jackson Township at the intersection of County Road 138 and State Route 637. Authorities reported that Sara was driving a 2002 Volkswagen Beetle westbound on County Road 138 when a collision occurred with a northbound Ford F-750 truck. Despite emergency response efforts, Sara was pronounced deceased at the scene.
