Today, we remember and honor the lives of Katie Barber, 22, of Tylertown, Mississippi, and Benson Brady, 14, of Kentwood, Louisiana, whose lives were tragically taken in a devastating crash in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana, on June 20, 2026.
What began as an ordinary Saturday morning ended in unimaginable heartbreak when the pickup truck they were traveling in left the roadway and struck a tree along Louisiana Highway 9. Katie and Benson suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene, leaving behind grieving families, heartbroken friends, and communities struggling to come to terms with their sudden loss.
Katie will be remembered for the impact she made on those fortunate enough to know her, while Benson’s young life represented a future filled with hopes, dreams, and endless possibilities. Though their time on earth was far too brief, the memories they created and the love they shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those who cherished them.
