SPRINGFIELD — John Cram, 30, a Springfield tattoo artist, Kelsey Huyck, 32, and Jordan Conrad, 19, all of Springfield, were involved in a deadly two-vehicle crash that resulted in Cram’s death, Huyck’s serious injuries, and Conrad’s arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to the Springfield Police Department.

Authorities said the crash occurred on June 18, 2026, at approximately 8:56 p.m. at the intersection of Cherry and Dysart, marking another tragic addition to a growing number of fatal roadway incidents in the city.

According to the Springfield Police Department, officers were dispatched to the intersection following reports of a serious collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle. Investigators determined that Jordan Conrad was driving a 2008 Chrysler Sebring eastbound on Cherry Street when he attempted to make a left turn onto Dysart Road. In doing so, police say the vehicle entered the path of an oncoming motorcycle traveling westbound.

The motorcycle was being operated by John Cram, a tattoo artist, who was riding a 2022 Kawasaki Ninja with passenger Kelsey Huyck at the time of the crash. The collision caused significant impact, resulting in both Cram and Huyck being ejected from the motorcycle.

Emergency responders transported both victims to a local hospital with critical injuries. Despite medical efforts, John Cram was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Kelsey Huyck remains hospitalized in serious condition as doctors continue to monitor her recovery.

Police confirmed that Cram’s family has been notified of his passing.

Following the crash investigation, authorities arrested Jordan Conrad on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was taken into custody and booked into the Greene County Jail. Officials said the case will be forwarded to the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office for review, where formal charges may be filed.

The Springfield Police Department also noted that this incident represents the city’s 10th fatal motor vehicle crash of 2026, resulting in a total of 11 deaths so far this year—underscoring a troubling trend of deadly roadway incidents.

Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash, including speed, impairment, and right-of-way violations. Authorities are working to reconstruct the sequence of events leading up to the collision.
